Adhara Mudra

Adhara Mudra

Adhara Mudra is the gesture for support and receiving abundantly. This Mudra is especially beneficial for:

  • creating a natural sense of openness to receive abundantly,
  • support digestion,
  • releasing tension from the mid back,
  • supporting the health of the kidneys and adrenal glands,
  • cultivating self-esteem which helps to remove beliefs of unworthiness in inadequacy.

To hold the Mudra:

  • bring the palms together in prayer position in front of the abdomen with the fingers facing forward
  • keeping the fingers and the base of the wrist together while spreading the thumbs out to the sides like open wings creating an open space between the palms.
  • relax the shoulders down and back with the forearms resting against the abdomen and the spine will naturally align.

Adhara means foundation. This Mudra directs the breast awareness and energy into the solar plexus cultivating a sense of enthusiasm and self-esteem that allows us to be open to receive abundantly. The Open hands reflect our willingness to receive as well as our intention to release the limiting beliefs that keep us from receiving. This Mudra also enhances our ability to focus, allowing us to clarify our needs and make a request more objectively.
